Nestled deep in the forest, two hours northeast of Oslo, Søsætra Retreat is a serene oasis designed for presence, silence, and insight. The retreat offers courses and experiences centered around meditation, personal development, and group processes. To enhance the auditory experience in a newly designed meditation and sound experience room, a state-of-the-art sound system was required.
The Challenge
The vision for the meditation room was to create a space free from external noise and resonance, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in sound and silence. The room, constructed entirely separate from the rest of the building, needed a precise audio installation that would complement its unique acoustics while maintaining a minimalist and harmonious design.
“The precise placement and adaptation of the speakers is the result
of thorough planning and technical expertise,” explains Berglund.
The Solution
In collaboration with CBK and Kontorleverandøren Hamar AS, Blaze Audio provided a tailored sound solution that ensures optimal clarity and balance. The system was meticulously installed with precise speaker placement to achieve the perfect sound angle and distribution. The meditation room was built with 60mm thick Norwegian pine, contributing to its rich and natural acoustics.
The sound system consists of some of the best products on the market, including:

Every component was carefully chosen to enhance the immersive soundscape, allowing visitors to experience deep, uninterrupted moments of stillness and mindfulness.

“The room almost floats in silence, and gives an experience of
absolute calm, where you can even hear your own heartbeat and
brain activity,” says Per Øystein Berglund from CBK.
